Northern California Chapter

Join us to explore the history and culture of Egypt from before the Pharaohs into the Age of Alexander and Cleopatra, Julius Caesar and Marc Antony; the rise of Christianity and its fall to Islamic conquerors; into the age of the Caliphs, the Mamelukes and Napoleon Bonaparte; and finally the rise of modern Egypt beginning with Mohammed Ali and the early European travelers and explorers, culminating in the Egyptian republic in its many changing forms.

The Board of the American Research Egypt, Northern California Chapter would like to express our gratitude for the generous donations provided by Al-Masri Egyptian Cuisine, San Francisco (food), Anchor Steam Brewing Company, San Francisco (beverages) and the Sausan Academy of Egyptian Dance (entertainment) for the April 23rd, 2010 Reception at the Phoebe A. Hearst Museum in Berkeley. The great success of this event would not have been possible without their benevolence.
